Messages and Monitoring
How to work with all messages, focused monitoring feeds, filters, and datasets.
Messages and Monitoring
Messages is the operational workspace for source content. Monitoring adds feed-level views when data streams are enabled.
When to use each view
- Monitoring - start here when you work by source or feed. Open All messages for the full workspace, or open a specific feed for source-scoped messages.
- Messages - use the global table when monitoring feeds are not enabled or when you need a cross-source view.
- Feed details - use this view to inspect only the messages collected by one data stream.
Filters
Use filters to narrow the table by date, text, author, source fields, brand, and feed context. Apply filters before creating a dataset so the dataset contains exactly the intended scope.
Create a dataset
You can build a dataset from:
- selected rows in the current table;
- all messages matching the active filters.
Give the dataset a clear name and check the brand before saving. The dataset becomes available in Start tagging under Use existing dataset.
Open related tagging sessions
From a message row you can open the related tagging sessions. Use this when you need to understand where a message was tagged, reviewed, or exported.
Manual messages
Use Create message when a message must be added manually instead of coming from a file upload or data stream.
Recommended workflow
- Open Monitoring or Messages.
- Filter to the exact source, period, and text scope.
- Create a dataset from selected rows or all filtered rows.
- Start tagging from the dataset.
- Review the result in Tagging Workbench.
